The Barrhead Community Garden Association has been amazed at how well the Barrhead Community has received the Barrhead Community Garden. It grew from 40 plots to 78 plots in 3 years. We now have a waiting list of gardeners. Participating in the community garden has become a great social activity plus a productive way to interest people of all ages in understanding the growing of nutritious food and the importance of Agriculture to the Barrhead Community.

There will be more changes this year with donations of a gazebo, gates (Thank you, Barrhead Composite High!) and a grant from TD for additional improvements (raised beds, additional compost bins, greenhouse, plus water tanks and barrels). Thank you, TD bank!

Sponsors in Barrhead created the Barrhead Community Garden. The Barrhead Community Garden Association has a sign on order listing Barrhead & Community sponsors. We can’t wait to get that sign up to recognize you!

Please come to an appreciation barbeque on Friday May 29th at 1:00 pm at the garden as a small recognition of your contribution. You will be receiving an invitation to our fall supper as well.
